He did a Swill 7" and a Ted Franko 7", and somehow he got through to Eugene Chadbourne and got him to do a CD for him. In the end he needed some help financing it, so I stepped in to help out. Even though the title was spelt wrong (Nigmeggen) it is an awesome CD. It was done with a cheap fold over cover, but I think that was so Eugene could easily bring them around on tour to sell. There were only 1000 copies made. I remember Tower Records magazine reviewed it and called it "the best Eugene Chadbourne CD You'll Never Be able to find." True. It features the Electric Rake and a recording of a riot that broke out at a show in England. Wonderful stuff here. Years later Eugene reissued it with a different cover but the same title. I still have a few dozen copies of the original CD, so here it is your chance to get one of the original 1000 copies made. |
