For those of you Noiseville veterans, you are most likely VERY familiar with BENCH.
Bench started out in the mid-80's playing a brutal sort of psych rock. Twenty years later
what they were doing back then is called STONER ROCK.
Noiseville released 2 7" singles from Bench, both very well received and Bench built a rep
around the NYC area as one of the heaviest psych bands ever.
Now that Stoner rock is a big deal, many people have gone back to find out the origins of
this sound and many consider BENCH one of the originals, and put Bench up there with
bands like Monster Magnet and The Thing.
in 2005, the World lost Bryan, the guitar player of the band, shortly after the band
completed their reunion CD with some very ambient stoner sounds on it.
After some discussion, the surviving members of Bench and Noiseville thought it was time
to get Bryan his due and re-release the bands early cassette demo tapes.
This is the 1st in a series of 4 CDs with all of the bands recorded cassette tapes that they
used to sell at shows (that by the way now sell for around $75 a pop!!!)
